(Indianapolis, IN) -- A politically charged spat between a Republican state senator and the Democratic head of the Indiana House will bring some lawmakers to the Statehouse for the first time since last week today. House Speaker Pat Bauer adjourned the House until today after becoming upset that Senator Brandt Hershman left the Statehouse to attend a GOP fundraiser. Marion County Democratic Party Chairman Ed Treacy blamed Republicans for stalling on township reform Tuesday.

Two state senators were honored Tuesday for their work to pass an ethics bill as well. Much of Tuesday's legislative activity happened behind closed doors as lawmakers met to discuss the remaining issues in the legislative session.
