(Richmond, CA) -- Bay Area-based Chevron plans to cut two-thousand jobs this year. Company officials said Tuesday the job cuts will occur worldwide, but will not likely impact Chevron's century-old refinery in Richmond. The company based in San Ramon, has about 12-hundred workers at the Richmond refinery, adding over 30-million dollars to the local economy annually. Chevron posted a 10-billion-dollar gain last year, but also says profits were down over 50 percent from the year before.
