(Washington, DC) -- U.S. Health Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is confronting big health insurance companies. Speaking at a convention of industry executives, Sebelius said increasing numbers of people are dropping health coverage because they can no longer afford it.

The Obama administration has initiated a full court press to secure final passage of health insurance reform legislation in Congress. The issue stalled after the House and Senate passed separate bills last year. President Obama has accused big health insurance companies of putting profits before patients. Secretary Sebelius said health insurance companies should embrace sweeping reforms, not fight them.
