(Los Angeles, CA) -- Corey Haim's mother is speaking out about her son's final days. In a brief statement to RadarOnline.com, mom Judy Haim says her son was giving her a helping hand at the time of his death. Judy says, quote, "I am a cancer victim and Corey was helping me at home. He was a good boy. I'm devastated by his death." Sources say Judy is a breast cancer patient and that Haim lived with her by choice because he wanted to look after her care. She was undergoing chemotherapy during her son's final days.
Haim was pronounced dead in the early morning hours of Wednesday, March 10th in Los Angeles. The 38-year-old had collapsed shortly before 1:00 in the morning at his mother's Hollywood home. Authorities say Haim's death was likely the result of a drug overdose, though his agent denies the claim. Toxicology tests are pending. Haim's hard-partying ways were well documented over the years. He is best known as one half of the 1980s duo "The Two Coreys" along with fellow teen idol Corey Feldman. Haim's films included "The Lost Boys," "Lucas," "License To Drive,' and "Dream A Little Dream."
