(Washington, DC) -- Sean Penn's infamous surly side was on display last night during a gala hosted by the Washington Hebrew Congregation, and it was not an act. The two-time Academy Award-winning actor was not pleased when asked by a reporter about comments he recently made about critics of his work in Haiti. Penn's motivations for his efforts in the earthquake-ravaged country have been called into question. He recently told CBS News he hopes his critics on that front, quote, "die screaming of rectal cancer."
According to the "Washington Examiner," Penn told a reporter from "Yeas & Nays", quote, "you should go your way" after she asked him if his critics had changed since his controversial remarks. The publicity coordinator for the event ended the interview and chastised the reporter for her question. A rabbi who was attending then attempted to take her recording device and delete the material. The reporter left on her own after police threatened to escort her from the building.
