(San Francisco, CA) -- Veterans in California are struggling to find work with an unemployment rate of nine-point two percent in 2009. Nationally, that figure for vets sits at eight-point one percent. The Bureau of Labor and Statistics in San Francisco released a report on the job status of veteran's in the state. It shows that about 53 percent of the nearly two million vets did have jobs last year, but that's a far cry from where they feel the number should be. It also reveals that, on average, veterans in California and across the nation are actually doing better than the general population which has an unemployment rate of nine-point seven percent.
