(Kandahar) -- A string of suicide attacks in Kandahar, Afghanistan Saturday has left 30 people dead and more than 50 others wounded. Civilians and police are among those who were killed in the blasts. The biggest attack was aimed at the prison in Afghanistan's second largest city. The second took place near the residence of President Hamid Karzai's half-brother Ahmad Wali Karzai. He is the head of Kandahar's provincial council. Taliban insurgents stormed the prison on the outskirts of the city in 2008, freeing around one-thousand prisoners, including 400 Taliban fighters.
