(Washington, DC) -- The nation's capital is promoting its distribution of free female condoms via Metrobus advertisements. DC is one of the first cities in the nation to distribute the condoms for free, and the ads are part of the Washington AIDS Partnership campaign to combat the spread of HIV. The "DC Doin' It!" campaign began this week with ads on 460 Metrobuses and brochures that are being distributed throughout the community. The MAC AIDS Fund has provided the DC Heath Department and Washington AIDS Partnership with a 500-thousand-dollar grant for the campaign to distribute half-a-million condoms. According to the "Washington Examiner," project director Sarah Gaudreau says younger members of the community have been more receptive to the condoms, but she believes that the project has made a positive impression on people of all ages.
