Homeowners Don't Like IPS Expansion Plans

(Indianapolis, IN) -- Expansion at an IPS school could force seven homeowners out of their homes. One of them, 74-year-old Arlene Cole, has lived in the neighborhood by IPS School 58 for nearly four decades and she worries about her options. She says if she sells to the district, she fears her house won't bring in enough money to buy another one somewhere else.

Another homeowner said he's been upgrading his house over the past decade and is worried those will be for naught if the IPS offer doesn't include the improvements. The school board has approved using eminent domain if the homeowners don't agree to sell their properties to the district.
