Disney Sells Miramax To Investor Group



(Los Angeles, CA) -- The film studio Miramax is changing hands. The Walt Disney Company says it has sold Miramax for approximately 660-million dollars to an investor group. The group includes construction magnate Ron Tutor and investment firm Colony Capital. The deal includes more than 700 movie titles, such as Academy Award winners "Chicago," "Shakespeare in Love" and "No Country for Old Men." The deal is expected to close between September 10th and year's end. Disney Chief Executive Robert Iger says Walt Disney Studios will focus on the development of films under the Disney, Pixar and Marvel brands.
