(Detroit, MI) -- President Obama is touting the comeback of the U.S. auto industry. Speaking at a Chrysler plant in Detroit, Obama said, quote, "We are coming back!" He said last year's federal auto bailouts of GM and Chrysler saved about one-million jobs. Obama cited a long and proud history in the American auto industry and said the Big Three automakers are operating at a profit for the first time in several years. He touted "good decisions" in Washington and sacrifices by auto industry workers. Obama also criticized Republicans who were skeptical about auto industry bailouts, referring to them as the "just say no crowd."
